Ridin' Like Bug Larouche is a dream song about being a rodeo hero. Bug is one of The Calgary Stampede's youngest rodeo cowboys. Even if you don't recognize Bug, this story song is guaranteed to find it's way into your heart. It will connect you to the child in your life or, better still, the child in you.

"Bug stole my heart when I saw him rounding up the ponies at the end of the Wild Pony Race, Calgary Stampede 2012. Then I saw him interviewed by Bob Tallman on Youtube and this song unfolded. Check out the interview while you listen to Bug's song. I'd really like to hear your comments. Thanks everyone for your support and especially for all the amazing feedback on my first album, 'Casitaville'. I'm flattered and inspired by your compliments and promise more song releases soon." - Allison

Vocalist, Musician, Songwriter

Allison writes from a lifetime of adventure, beginning in a little Western Canadian mining village. As a teenager, behind the wheel of a '65 Chevy Malibu converted into a primitive motorhome, she hit the road.

Cooking in mining camps in the Arctic, working as a commercial pilot, and ranching in the last frontier of British Columbia provided Allison with a unique collection of experiences and stories. The lyrics of her songs, often in humour, express the sentiments of a rich and colourful life with words born from the heart.

Relaxed, earthy and warm, her vocal style is influenced by blues, western swing, latin, traditional jazz, and grounded by her country roots.

Casitaville is influenced by a variety of genres of music recorded in different studios along the road: Hen House Studio in Victor, Idaho; New Wine Studio in California; Creations Studio in Vancouver, B.C.; and David Lange Studio in Seattle, Washington. A line up of wonderful musicians contributed to this album including: Rob Becker, Cary Black, Michael Creber, Grant Dermody, Mike Dowling, Paul Elliott, Orville Johnson, David Keenan, David Lange, Lauri Lyster, Billy Novick, Bill Plummer, Jami Sieber, Eric Uglum, Austin Ward, Ben Winship, and Jim Woodyard.

All songs are written by Allison Altherr except tracks 3, 4 and 8.
